Kalo Surf in Kissamos, West Crete

group picture after the surf lesson

Kalo Surf basically means “have a good surf” or “the surf is good”. And the surf indeed was good today in Kissamos! Both our morning and afternoon classes were surfing waves of significant size and power. In the morning Andy covered the basics with two first time surfers. The rest of the group was ready to practice what they have learned so far.

In the afternoon the size even picked up a bit. After a repetition in safety signals and the most important surf moves, Andy went to paddle out with half the group that was a bit more experienced to catch some green waves, while the others stayed close to the beach to catch the white water. Afterwards when all were tired, we stayed in the inside section to catch those powerful whitewater waves!
