The first week of October brought us two different swells on the North Coast. The first swell arrived on 2 October 2023. The size of the wave was decent and the period still rather short as is usual when the swell just arrived. The conditions were ideal for beginner surf courses, first a family with kids and then a group of adult surfers. The kids had a lot of fun, and were quickly able to catch waves on their own and stand up on the surfboard.

The following day the waves were so big in Kissamos, that the spray was crashing over the wall of rocks that protects the bay! A small group of Kalo Surfers had the opportunity to take their first steps in the sport or to train movement patterns that they already learned.

After a break of two calm days the next swell came on 7 October 2023 seemingly out of nowhere to Kissamos, with good sized waves, a good period and organised sets. We had great fun charging the faster steeper waves. The following day in the morning we had our favourite conditions. When the swell calms down, early in the morning, there is the gift of glassy waves and a completely empty line up!
