Surfing Crete from 25 September to 1 October 2023
People wonder why we talk about the weather so much. Not only is surfing an outdoor sport and you are exposed to the elements, but waves get created merely due to weather constellations. This is why we are constantly observing and analysing the weather and its impact on the coast. This week the weather had really all that Crete has to offer in store for us. Sunny surf sessions in Falassarna, torrential downpour in the middle of the week and super sunny and calm autumn weather on the weekend - ideal for hiking!
In our surf classes we had people with all kinds of prior experience. For those who have surfed multiple times before, we tackled mastering the correct turn. Our guests often come with prior experienced, but the coaching they received so far stopped at being able to pop up on the surfboard and ride straight ahead. But there is so much more to learn when you continue your surf journey. We want to be able to ride the face of the wave and follow the flow. This is where the fun begins!
