Big Waves for the Surf and Yoga Retreat in Greece

group picture with surfboards

It was a challenging day for our surf students at the beach of Kissamos this afternoon. The waves were big but with Surf Instructor Andy and Surf Instructor in the Making Lena, we were well prepared. After a warm up, some practice at the beach and the instructions from Andy, it was time to enter the water.

Katherina and Klaudie jumped right in and paddled all the way out into the line up. Their goal was to improve the turns, which is one of the main goals of surfing. Once you figured out how to pop up and handle the board you are ready for the next step: turns. It was not an easy day but you two did great!

Our Finnish Yogis Emmi, Emmi, Silvia, Satu and Marjo-Riikka had their third and last day of surfing with us here on Crete. First, they practiced in the white water to get a feeling for the strong waves. After a few runs they were ready to paddle out into the line up with Andy where they took turns catching waves further out to have a longer ride. It was an exhausting last session but you learned so much in such a short time! Enjoy your massages guys, you really earned them!
