Today we had very special guests at Kalo Surf Surfschool in Crete. A team of the Dutch Navy took a break from their disciplined life to hang loose and surf some waves with us. While stationed in Chania port they had one day off! Sanne - who surfed before - had the great idea to organise a group of her colleagues and book a lesson with us. The waves were glassy and perfect in beautiful Falassarna. Andy coached them through catching their first waves and taught them the correct technique of popping up. Hard work but lots of fun and good rides. As a reward the team of Kalo Surf got a visitors tour of the impressive HNLMS Karel Doorman!!!
Today, 5 May we drove to the to the west coast of Crete, to Falassarna bay, due to the west swell. Our surfers were guided step by step how to conquer their first waves in Crete.
