Miriam and Anna Maria were really lovely guests and we enjoyed the surf sessions with them. For their last day we went for a SUP tour with them. We had a lot of fun with snorkeling and cliff diving as well. As you can see there a many things you can adventure here on Crete. Have a safe trip home girls.
This day our surfing students were super motivated. We had two beginner groups and they gave all their energy. Marzio, who is in the intermediate course showed us how Italians can ride the waves. Additionally it was the last surfing session for our one and only Surf Betty but we are sure this was not the last time she was catching the waves. It was a day full of fun and a lot of happy faces here on Crete.
This day our lovely Yogis Zoe and Klaus made a really great job at their first surfing lesson. They managed to stand up immediately and enjoyed the sun in the white water. Later on the intermediate course went for a little skate practice before heading into the waves of Crete. Andy showed them how to pump on the board (like this you will get some extra speed). After that they went in the water where Marzio caught really nice waves.
As you can see these kids are really made to surf but also their parents are very talented. The family had a great sunny surfing day on the beautiful island Crete. After theory about surfing rules and the right paddle technique Bettina, Miriam and Marzio went out in the line up. Although the current was a bit stronger than usually they had a nice session. We are looking forward to the next days and how our lovely guests will improve their surfing skills.
Yesterday north wind brought beautiful waves to Crete. Perfect conditions for an intermediate lesson. We paddled out to catch green waves. Miriam had an awesome session, mastering to turn to the left AND to the right. Surf coach Andy never fails to bring you to the next level!
Since yesterday the waves are back in full power and we enjoy the beach life in Kissamos. Surfing, swimming, coffee and enjoying the sun. On the surf session we were joined by Bettina and Mila, a former colleague of Andy. She knows the surf industry very well and already loves the empty surf in Crete!
Today Lili and her father Wolfgang had their first amazing experience on a surfboard. They did a really great job and surfed until the sun went down. After a long and successful training session in Crete they were quite tired but super happy.
Yesterday's session at Kalo Surf Surfschool in Crete was focused on improving the skills of our intermediates. We paddled into green waves, were working on the momentum, and the front side turn, as well as on finishing the wave. Finishing the wave is very important for competition surfers as it means you lose points if you don't. For us it means slowing down and getting back on your board.
A calm and beautiful morning is the perfect opportunity to explore Crete's stunning coastline from the sailor's point of view. At Kalo Surf we offer Stand Up Paddle Tours, so you can see a side of the island that you have never seen before.
After a couple of days of heavy pounding waves on the north shore of Crete, our intermediate group got to enjoy a smoother surf yesterday afternoon. Beautiful green lines entered the bay one after the other and Ben, Brahian, Frank, Adam and Gislane had the chance to execute in style the maneuvers they have been thought by coach Andy.
